Scientific Goals

The LBMS develops, identifies and validates models to improve process design, control and analysis of failure modes of complex electromechanical and mechanical systems, especially those interacting with the marine environment. Our general approach will rely more and always a balance between "theoretical", "experimental approaches" and "numerical approaches.

The organization always revolves around three teams each consisting of several research groups:

• Team "Mechanics of Materials and Assemblies" ,
• Team "Fluid Dynamics of Materials and Structures" ,
• Team on Energy and Electromechanical Systems " .

Working methods

One of the primary objectives during the implementation of a new research lab as the LBMS (ie, laboratory small gathering of colleagues from diverse scientific backgrounds), is the definition of a base on which builds our shared vision of job search:

• ongoing dialogues and confrontations between modeling, simulation and experimentation,
• research character "applicable" in the medium term industrial problems,
• research projects with strong potential for integration of young researchers in the industrial world.

Thus, despite the wide range of skills (for a research entity of this size), we can say that a common approach is shared by all teams:

• provide useful models and range of validity properly identified,
• develop digital strategies and / or experimental original
• study systems (mechanical or electromechanical) complex
• introduction of original essays.
